Tim Swailes' First Permit

Congratulations to Tim on his first ever Permit, caught a few weeks ago in Southern Belize.
Finally got his fishing partner to send me a copy.
"Copy of Tim’s permit attached (not sure if the grin is permit or beer induced)."

One of the groups down to Machaca Hill, Belize just got back. Weather was a kind of tough with some bad light, wind, all the stuff that make it tough. As usual, all attending thought Machaca was top flight!

Upcoming Fly Fishing Vacations Part 3

Machaca Hill, Belize

Machaca Hill is located on the Rio Grande just minutes from the Caribbean Sea. While world class permit fishing is the main attraction for most anglers, Machaca Hill guides specialize in the big three; bones, permit and tarpon. In 2008, all three of these species were made catch and release only.
The flats, lagoons, and river channels around Machaca are among the best permit fisheries in the world. Large migratory tarpon are seen May through September and small (under 20 pound) tarpon are found year round in the mangroves, brackish estuaries, creeks and lagoons. Among these targeted fish are bonefish, snook, jack crevalle and mutton snapper.

In addition to fishing, anglers or their non fishing companions can enjoy bird and wildlife watching, jungle excursions by foot or mountain bike, caving adventures, river/sea adventures, diving and snorkling.

Upcoming Trip: April 30-May 7, 2011
Please contact us if you'd like more information or are interested in dates other than those listed.

VIDEO FROM TURNEFFE FLATS, BELIZE

Neat video put together by Kevin Sproule, a customer who joined the Country Pleasures trip to Turneffe Flats this past November. Works best if you pause it, let it load for a minute , and then play. Otherwise it wants to keep stopping.
