Fishing Options

With the temporary closures due to high water temperatures in effect, if you're looking for a day out on the water we are offering an option for anglers.

We are staying away from the high country Cutthroat streams as they don't need any additional pressure, but a cool alternative is a day fishing at Hector Lake with long time guide, Mike Guinn.

The beautiful scenery of Hector Lake.
Mike has been guiding around these parts for near 40 years and has spent a ton of time guiding and fishing Hector Lake.

Mike with a nice Hector Rainbow. There's some much bigger fish out there.

Fishing is almost entirely, unless conditions prohibit, sight fishing to big cruising Rainbows with both dry and wet flies. These fish get big, and they pull like freight trains. A lot of the big fish are a real challenge to land.
Hector lake Sedge.
These trips are a full day, with the standard amenities included. Lunch, beverages, and snacks are included. Rods/reels are supplied on request. Clients meet at Hector in the morning and fish into the evening.

We are only doing one boat per day on this fishery so space is at a premium. Give us a call for more information, or to book a day.

Guide Profile-Joe Buck

Joe Buck has guided for CP for over a decade. He has a special place in his heart for fishing the big dry flies and is pretty darn good at it. When not guiding in the summer, Joe educates the youth of Okotoks as a teacher. Those of you who have met Joe might have noticed a slight British accent, being born in Britain but living most of his life in Western Canada. This might account for his love of Rugby, a sport he coaches, and Football (Soccer).

Joe possesses a passion for fishing not seen very often and passes this excitement along to all his clients.
Thinking of fishing the Bow with a guide? Love to fish dry flies? Like someone who's excited to fish every day? Give us a call and spend a day with Joe.

Guide Spotlight

Another guiding season is upon us and we'd like to introduce you to Jason Eggleton, shop guide and fish bum.

Here's some comments from clients:"
"Jason always works hard to make sure that we get a good shot at fish, and have an enjoyable day on the river. Jason was both knowledgeable and positive to be with. He is an interesting and talkative (without being annoying) guide who tries very hard to provide good information about the river and our prey."
-John Dundas

Also check out his trip with Andrew Penner from the Calgary Herald

Jason is a hit with clients young and old; his personality and fish finding skills are sure to impress. If your interested in a guided float trip, check out the CP website.
