Fishing Options

With the temporary closures due to high water temperatures in effect, if you're looking for a day out on the water we are offering an option for anglers.

We are staying away from the high country Cutthroat streams as they don't need any additional pressure, but a cool alternative is a day fishing at Hector Lake with long time guide, Mike Guinn.

The beautiful scenery of Hector Lake.
Mike has been guiding around these parts for near 40 years and has spent a ton of time guiding and fishing Hector Lake.

Mike with a nice Hector Rainbow. There's some much bigger fish out there.

Fishing is almost entirely, unless conditions prohibit, sight fishing to big cruising Rainbows with both dry and wet flies. These fish get big, and they pull like freight trains. A lot of the big fish are a real challenge to land.
Hector lake Sedge.
These trips are a full day, with the standard amenities included. Lunch, beverages, and snacks are included. Rods/reels are supplied on request. Clients meet at Hector in the morning and fish into the evening.

We are only doing one boat per day on this fishery so space is at a premium. Give us a call for more information, or to book a day.

Drifting and sight fishing.
