Fishing Reports-June 13, 2012

Bow River Report –June 13, 2012

Would expect that pretty much everyone knows the Bow is, as an understatement, a little big right now.
It did drop a ton on Monday (about 100 CMS). If we don’t get a ton of rain or abnormally hot weather we should be pretty good to go by later in June (which is pretty much normal)….

Hatches: Caddis

Dry Flies: Not likely

Crowsnest River Report – June 13, 2012

Saw the Crow on Monday and was shocked at how good of shape it was in. It’s high (16 CMS this morning) but the clarity is very fishable. I have fishe dit in a lot worse shape than it’s in right now. Be careful wading!

On a side note, all of the other streams between the Crow and Waterton are in amazing shape compared to our area. Would expect most to be very fishable by the time they open.

Hatches: Salmonflies

Streamers: Morrish Wooly Sculpin #4, Near Nuff Sculpin-Tan #4, Geek Leech-Brown #2

Nymphs: Jimmy Legs - Dk. Brown #8, Hogan’s Rubber Stone-Golden #8

Dries: Plopper Stone #6, Berrett’s Mutant Stone #6

There are still fishing options out there. Pike fishing has been really good in the last week.
This is actually a Rainbow, about 34", from a Southern Alberta stillwater. Gotta love 5X!

High Country River Report – June 13, 2012

High country streams are closed until June 16, 2012.
After seeing the Oldman at Waldron, the Crowsnest, and looking at remaining snowpack for watersheds like Racehorse, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the southern high country stuff is pretty fishable by late June.
