Bow
River Report – June 16, 2016
Things are
hopping on the river right now!
The fish are
extremely keyed into Stonefly nymphs, so much so we didn’t even list a worm on
this week’s report.
Although the dry
side of Stones is still a little weak it’s coming shortly.
PMD and Caddis dry
fly fishing has been great. Streamer fishing has also been good.
And for the first time in a long time there’s
fish in the “sexy water”. Along the banks, etc. For a little while here we migt
be able to completely forego the mid-river stuff. However, they did turn the taps off a little yesterday with the level dropping a bunch.
Hatches:
Caddis, PMD’s, Stoneflies
Dry Flies: Film Critic-PMD, Helen Keller, PMD Hackle
Stacker, E/C Caddis,
Bloom’s Parachute Caddis, AC
Caddis, Chubby Chernobyl
Streamers:
Bellydancer Zonker, Skiddish Smolt, Sculpin Leech, 1/4 lb. Bugger
Crowsnest
River Report – June 16, 2016
Conditions, and fishing, continue to be awesome on the Crow. Visibility
at East Hillcrest of over 3 feet, with flow volumes of under 7 CMS.
Salmonfly/Stonefly patterns, both dry and
nymphs, are working great right now.
Don’t be afraid of the Crow at this time of
year if it’s a little dirty. It can be very good.
And the whole thing is now open!
Hatches: Salmonflies, Golden Stoneflies
Dries: Stimi
Stone, Bank Robber, Berrett’s Barred Leg Stone, Chubby Chernobyl
Streamers: Love Bunny, Party Boy, Double Bunny
High Country River Report – June 16, 2016
As of today, the high country streams are
now open (sorry Cutthroat).
As there hasn’t been anyone fishing them we
can confidently tell you only one thing….the water looks like July 15th.
As for fly suggestions….we’re just
guessing.
We’ll try and be more intelligent next
week.
Dries: Stimi
Stone, Bank Robber, Berrett’s Barred Leg Stone, Chubby Chernobyl
Streamers: Love Bunny, Party Boy, Double Bunny
