Fishing Reports - June 9 Edition

Suggested ammo for this week on the Bow

Bow River Report – June 9,  2016

Evening Caddis dry fly fishing has been pretty good of late. Only thing, is you might have to stay up past your bedtime to take advantage of it. It’s been happening at, and after dark. Cooler weather on the way may help with that as we may see some fish up through the day if we get cloud cover.

PMD’s have started to show up and with the forecast for the weekend and early next week the PMD fishing could be quite good.

Nymphing continues to be good. Stonefly nymphs slowly taking over from Worms as the fly of choice.

Streamer fishing could be very good this coming weekend if the forecast holds true. Cooler, rainy weather could light things up pretty good. The streamer fishing has been fairly good anyways. It’s usually a little tougher on bright, 30 degree days so the cloudy weather should be a big help.

Flows have been fairly stable over the last week, slowly dropping through last weekend into the middle of the week. The hot weather has brought what little snow was left on it’s way. Flows have increased somewhat over the last couple days and may continue to come up a little. However, the river is still way lower than normal and any increase in flow shouldn’t diminish fishing quality. It will likely improve it.

If you are using Glenmore access, please do not drive upstream of the bridge. Launchdownstream of the bridge. Otherwise we may lose this access permanently (the city is grumpy about it and that would suck!). That and they are now fining people for it.
